Advancing large-animal research through collaboration, innovation and the 3Rs


The Large Animal Research Network (LARN) Conference 2026 will bring together researchers, veterinarians, animal technicians, welfare specialists and industry partners involved in large animal research across the UK. The event will provide opportunities to share scientific advances, discuss best practice, promote collaboration and explore innovations that support responsible animal research.

Draft programme overview

The event will combine a half-day 3Rs programme with a 1.5-day LARN meeting, creating opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange across both communities.

Topics

Cross-cutting themes will include animal welfare, openness in animal research, early career development, veterinary and technical expertise, and academia-industry collaboration with presentations and discussions on:

  • The 3Rs and responsible large animal research
  • Large animal models in biomedical translation
  • Animal health, livestock biology and biotechnology
  • Technology, infrastructure and collaborative research

  • Please log into your mySociety member account (if you are not a member then you can create a free account), then select ‘Book this event' at the top of the screen. The exact location of the conference will be sent to confirmed delegates. 
  • The deadline to register is 23:59 (GMT) on Friday 27 November 2026. 
  • If you need to make a booking for multiple delegates or pay by Purchase Order (PO), please contact us at info@lasa.co.uk to process your registration.

Spaces are limited and early registration is encouraged.


Conference rates (all fees are inclusive of VAT)

  • LASA Members: £75
  • Non-Members: £150

Abstracts and posters

  • Delegates will have the opportunity to present posters and selected oral presentations.
  • Please download and fill in the abstract form via the link, and to submit, upload it via the link at the top of the event page. The deadline is 23:59 on Friday 13 November.

Cancellation policy

Please be aware of our cancellation and refund policy:
  • If you cancel at least 30 days prior to the date of the event you will receive a full refund.
  • No refund will be made for non-attendance or cancellations within 30 days of the event (after Tuesday 17 November).
  • To cancel a booked place on an event, notice must be given by email to info@lasa.co.uk
